Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Workers with a minimum of one year of work experience in Canada are eligible to apply for permanent residency through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) programme.

Canada has long had a warm and welcoming attitude toward its immigrants, and with this initiative, it hopes to welcome even more. Professionals who have previously worked in Canada are ideal candidates for this programme since they are familiar with the Canadian job market.

Professionals have established relationships in Canada with their company, friends, and family who are well-suited to immigrate to Canada.

The Application Process For Canadian Experience Class

The applicant begins the application procedure by creating an online profile in the Express Entry system. The shortlisted individuals are invited to apply for permanent residency with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Who is eligible for the Canadian Experience Class?

In the previous three years, the applicant must have had at least one year of technical, skilled, or professional job experience in Canada (students cannot include co-op work terms or self-employment)

Meet language competence requirements in either English or French (Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)-based on employment nature and type).

Intention to live somewhere else in Canada other than Quebec (separate experience class programme is present for Quebec)

Obtain a minimum of 67 points as per the CRS points system

Once the program’s minimum requirements are completed, the applicant’s profile is added to the pool of candidates. This programme is open to foreign nationals who are currently residing in Canada. Foreign nationals who apply from outside of Canada must do so within three years of leaving their previous work in Canada.

This method, which is a clear and uncomplicated approach to obtain permanent residence in Canada, is frequently used by international students. The procedure is straightforward and may be followed by the majority of overseas students.

International students are required to have a study permission till their studies are completed. Once they find work with a Canadian employer, they can apply for a postgraduate work permit. They are entitled to apply for permanent residency in this programme after completing one year in the designated work field.
